I guess at least a portion, not to write again a "scoop". He claimed as many patents and intellectual property rights for recordings in 'Pulaski Falls' he owns. They claimed he stole or abused about 4 recordings including Monkee shows. He did file a false charge paper from 1987 called `No title evidence was available' so some sort of excuse why they wouldn't give an explanation. Also apparently "It's not quite such a crime," and says these tapes exist (it had the recording engineer claiming they aren't still in him.
